Talk, talk and more talk. All the Newark High School Class of '59 wanted to do was talk, at their 55th Class Reunion. Held at the Moundbuilder's Country Club on September 20th, 2014, was a group of friends united together in one historical moment…to enjoy one another's company.
Talk, talk and more talk.
The unspoken words were, "I may never see you again." Shock was felt in the knowledge that 89 of our classmates have passed. To quote Cynthia Ozick, "What we remember from our childhood we remember forever - permanent ghost, stamped, inked, imprinted, eternally seen." So this evening became "Lost in the 50's Tonight." Stories were told, thoughts were illuminated and past events were reshaped into wonderful memories.
In this digital age we are living in, it might please some of you to know the type font, used for the reunion logo above, is called “My Old Remington.” English Teacher Gordon Kingery, wherever you are, that will bring a smile to your face.
